Incentives:
Employees who are assigned in writing to serve in a specialty assignment(s) will be compensated as listed below, subject to the maximum cap (14%) in Section 18.7 while serving in this capacity:
Specialty Assignment Pay Rates:
Field Training Officer (FTO) Pay
14% over regular base pay (temporary, does not count toward any cap).
K-9 Officer Pay
10% of regular base pay for time spent on K-9 program maintenance.
Motorcycle Pay
5% over regular base pay.
S.W.A.T. Tactical Team Pay
5% over regular base pay.
S.W.A.T. Safety Officer Pay
5% over regular base pay.
Bomb Technician Pay
5% over regular base pay.
Hazardous Materials Response Team Pay
5% over regular base pay.
Crisis Negotiator Pay
5% over regular base pay.
Detective Pay
6% over regular base pay for long-term assignments. 4% over regular base pay for career development assignments.
Instructor Pay
5% over regular base pay while actively performing instructor duties.Prep time does not qualify for instructor pay.
Translator Pay
5% over regular base pay for specific listed languages.
Comfort K-9 Program Handler Pay
2% over regular base pay.
Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Pay
3% over regular base pay.
School Resource Officer (SRO) Pay
2% over regular base pay.
Services Coordination Team (SCT) Pay
2% over regular base pay.
Vehicle Crime Team (VCT) Pay
3% over regular base pay.
Public Information Officer (PIO) Pay
2% over regular base pay.
Neighborhood Enforcement Team (NET) Pay
2% over regular base pay.
Rapid Response Team (RRT) Pay
2% over regular base pay.
Additional Incentives:
DPSST Certificate Incentive
Intermediate DPSST Certificate: 6%
Advanced DPSST Certificate: 5%
Total DPSST incentive: 11%
Educational Incentive
Bachelor’s Degree: 2%
Longevity Incentive
2% at 85 months of service.
Additional 1% at 169 months of service.
Laterals receive credit for prior service at other agencies.
